GCF Certification

The Global Certification Forum (GCF) was established in 1999. It is an organization founded jointly by operators and terminal manufacturers with the aim of ensuring global interoperability of terminals through an independent certification process.

GCF certification evaluation content and standards of end products using GCF certified module

GCF certificate obtained by Deeplight for customers

In the process of using GCF certified module, the end product manufacturer can only adjust the frequency band and function of the module, and other software and hardware end products are not allowed to make changes. The certification process that embeds the GCF certified module in the end product cannot be used if modifications have been made to other software or hardware of the module.

The manufacturer of the end product is obliged to ensure that the module or final product is provided with test evidence to ensure compliance with the applicable GCF certification standards.

In GCF certification, end product manufacturers use GCF certified module, which helps to save the amount of testing and testing time, and accelerates the rapid entry of products into the market. However, the test content of the module is different from the test content and function of the end product. What aspects need to be evaluated? This Deeplight provides the reason for this article.

The functions in the end product, but the module does not have specific and clear functions, need to be supplemented with tests. The supplementary test standard is based on the GCF test standard version currently applicable to GCF instead of the test version used by the module. Common functions involved are:

(1) Acoustic test

For products that support audio when acoustic characteristics change or are not tested on embedded modules.

The standards used are:3GPP TS 51.010-1,3GPP TS 26.132。

(2) OTA test

Under normal circumstances, the module does not do OTA testing. The GCF testing requirements for end products define the OTA antenna performance measurement requirements currently applicable to GCF certification in the attached table. The test content is in the attached table GCF CC Annex F3.10.

(3) Power

If the voltage of the embedded module is different from that used by the end product supplied to the module, the following certification standards apply:

3GPP TS 51.010-1,3GPP TS 34.121-1,3GPP TS 36.521-1,3GPP TS 36.521-3。

(4) SIM card interface

If the embedded module is not certified by the UICC-UE interface, or the UICC-UE interface has been modified in the product in which the module is embedded, the following test criteria apply:3GPP TS 51.010-1,ETSI TS 102 230。

(5) Radiation spurious

The following radiated emission test cases are performed on the end product that embeds the module. Adopt standard:

3GPP TS 51.010-1。

(6) User interface

If the authentication module embedded in the end product has UI-related functions, it needs to be evaluated, such as: (U)SIM Toolkit, product emergency call and SMS, etc. The following test standards apply: GCF-CC Page 35 Version 3.84.13.84.2。

(7) AE application level

If not already evaluated as part of the embedded module certification, application enablement testing should be performed, common such as VoLTE, RCS, etc.

(8) Field test

The field test of the end product is carried out in accordance with the standard GCF-CC Annex F.5.x.

The evaluation process of end products using GCF certification modules is carried out according to the above content. In addition, GCF certification will involve a series of form submissions. Deeplight can assist in completing such technical services. Welcome to consult Deeplight GCF certification test.
